Many women don't live without a flat iron in their purse! The electro - which saves the life of many hair without much effort - is found in many shapes, sizes, materials and colors. Pottery
According to Robson Trindade, hairdresser and visagist at Red Door Salon & SPA, in São Paulo, there is no flat iron made entirely of ceramics. "It is the resistance of the device that is composed of this material. When traveling abroad, I saw only a ceramic board, but it ended up being disused due to the impracticality of the application, as it did not slip through the hair easily," he explains.
For hairstylist Marcos Coraza, from Gilberto Cabeleireiros, "ceramics have better property in cauterization treatments, because it keeps its temperature stable". What's more, the material has the ability to instantly recover heat even in contact with cold surfaces.
Titanium
Marcos states that "titanio boards are excellent heat conductors, keep their high temperature stable and emit negative ions , which are excellent for keeping the cuticles of the wires closed." Infra-red
This kind of flat iron, by the way, has only a reputation for making the hair more beautiful. The hairdresser at Red Door Salon & SPA believes that red light has no effect on the hair. "Maybe a green LED would cause faster regeneration of damaged hair , because green in chromotherapy has a regenerative function. But infrared doesn't help."
The colleague of Gilberto Hairdressers also does not put faith in this type of flat iron. "Infrared boards are said to be brighter, but I don't feel any difference."
Narrow
This style of board is, in Marcos's opinion, "excellent for very short hair or to work well at the root of the hair". Robson agrees and adds, "The smaller the surface of wavy hair, the smaller the flat iron you will use." And consequently, less damage to your locks!
Wide
Unlike the narrow one, it is a good option when used from the middle to the ends and on medium and long hair.
Knowing each model, Coraza says that there is not one type that attacks more or less, but its form of use. "A board must be uniformly passed and never stop in the wick so as not to burn. Pass a maximum of three times in each wick," he teaches.
